The world is hard. Give yourself a soft place to land.

As a therapist, I offer a perspective rooted in compassion, justice, and the belief that things can get better. It’s normal to need care. Every part of you is welcome here - you are not too much. I provide telehealth therapy to individual adults in Washington State.

My Approach to Therapy

When we make time to listen to our bodies and emotions, we begin to reconnect with our inherent wisdom. We don't lose touch with this wisdom on our own. Trauma, unhealed wounds, and oppressive systems disconnect us from our wisdom and intuition, and impact our ability to feel at ease. You and your body carry so much, from the grief and resilience of those who came before you, to the stress of everyday life, and each story of pain, joy, and survival that has led you to seek care. It's normal to experience overwhelm, anxiety, disruption, and depression while carrying so much. You weren't meant to carry it all on your own.

Research indicates that the relationship between a therapist and client is one of the most significant factors when it comes to a client’s growth in therapy. The connection we build will act as a container where all of your parts are held with care and increased understanding, so they can begin to heal, integrate, and learn acceptance for each other. You deserve attentive care while you navigate the complexities of your life. Together, we can move you toward having a healthier relationship with your whole self, and living a life that has hope and meaning.

My work is informed by emotionally-focused therapy, attachment theory, relational-cultural theory, psychodynamic therapy, somatic therapy, and liberation psychology. As a clinical social worker, I practice from a strengths-based perspective that respects autonomy. Depending on where you’re at on any given day, my role as your therapist might include sitting down next to you in the mud, and verifying that yes, you are covered in mud, and that you are not crazy for feeling the effects of being covered in mud. Other days, if you’re up for it, we might work on finding some possible solutions.

I personalize care for each of my clients, and consider societal contexts related to the personal and collective impacts of cultural and historical trauma, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, gender-based violence, and capitalism. I am dedicated to fat-justice and am sex worker friendly.

About Me

In my time as a social worker and therapist, my greatest source of learning has been witnessing stunning acts of love, bravery, and integrity by people facing seemingly insurmountable odds. And yes, asking for help, and being honest with oneself that life is hard, is incredibly brave. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for more than eight years as a social worker supporting adults, children, adolescents, and families, in the contexts of child abuse and neglect, intergenerational trauma, disability, domestic violence, and poverty. I have also worked in organizational-level racial equity, social justice, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.

I am queer, genderqueer, neurodivergent, and multiracial - Japanese-American and White. My passion for healing and justice is fueled by my experiences of survival and my non-binary identities. For me, integrative healing work is essential and deeply personal. I have lived experiences of trauma, navigating oppressive systems, and their impacts. When we work together, life can get better. My value stances include Landback, Free Palestine, anti-capitalism, and ending the active genocide and white-supremacist colonization that continue to occur worldwide.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LSWAIC). I received a Master in Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. I love food and cooking - especially with my partner - being in hot water, deep hugs, animals, documentaries, playing music and singing, dreaming-up a better world, and working on making my hermit-crab-shell (camper) into a home.
